Starting from the first semester of the 2022 - 2023 Academic Year, degree examination applications will be processed online (under the Academic Affairs system).
After submitting the application through the system, please contact the office for online review. Once approved, download and print the hard copy application documents and submit them to the department office.

Log into the Student Academic Affairs System to fill out the degree examination application (Download System Operation Manual).

When editing the application, submit a list of atleast 3 to 5 committee candidates at the rank of assistant profesor or higher, recommended by the adivisor (who serves as an ex-officio member). The list is submitted to the Director to appoint at least 3 members to form the "Master's Degree Examination Committee" per Article 9 of the "University Degree Conferral and Graduate Degree Examination Regulations," and schedule the exam.

The full thesis PDF file must pass the "Turnitin Academic Thesis Originality Comparison System" with a similarity index of 10% or below before the application deadline. Please refer to "Step Instructions".

Students enrolled in or after the 2016 - 2017 Academic Year must pass the online course "Academic Research Ethics Education Seminar" and submit the certificate of completion (System Operation Instructions).

Domestic, Mainland Chinese, and Overseas Chinese students enrolled in or before the 2020 - 2021 Academic Year must provide proof of passing the department's English graduation threshold, score 600L or above on the university's Lexile test, or pass the "Online English Grammar Course" meeting the 600L pre-intermediate standard. International students must provide a Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) "Band B (Advanced)" certificate for listening and reading.

Students enrolled in the 2021 - 2022 Academic Year must take one EMI course, and students enrolled in or after the 111th Academic Year must take two EMI courses to meet the English graduation threshold.

Degree examination period: January or June each year. Must be completed between the start of winter/summer vacation and the deadline set by the Office of Academic Affairs (excluding weekends, please refer to the school calendar). If the degree exam for a graduation production takes place during the semester, please coordinate the venue in advance (no restrictions if the venue is off-campus).

Three copies of the thesis or written report will be sent to the degree examination committee members by the department office 14 working days before the degree exam. (For late submissions or special circumstances, please send them yourself).

Please collect the work bag from the department office before the degree examination, and return it immediately after the exam concludes.

Graduation Production: The net time for music performance is generally 40 to 60 minutes. The degree examination will be held 30 minutes after its conclusion.

Media Exhibition/Performance: Focused on "cross-disciplinary media collaboration," the net time is generally 40 to 60 minutes. The degree examination will be held 30 minutes after its conclusion.

Digital Archives: Focused on "music digital archives," the result can be an audio or video record. Playback time is generally 40 to 60 minutes. The oral defense follows the public presentation. If focused on "curation," the exhibition period is determined after discussing with the advisor, and the degree exam may take place during this period.
* Except for the presentation time, which cannot be changed, content can be flexibly adjusted based on the advisor's suggestions, but the office must be notified in advance.

Complete School-Leaving Procedures

Check the application progress of various school-leaving procedures and read the latest announcements online in real-time on the "NTNU Graduate Service Information Portal".

After the degree exam, pick up the "Thesis Approval Signature Form" from the department office. The revised master's thesis, approved by the advisor, must meet the university's format for the cover (beige), binding, and pagination. After checking by the office, upload it to the library. Once approved, print the "Authorization Letter". The printed thesis must contain the "Thesis Approval Signature Form" and "Authorization Letter". Submit one copy to the office and two copies to the library. Re-upload the watermarked full-text electronic file to the "Turnitin Academic Thesis Originality Comparison System" ( index 10% or below) to complete the process.

Graduation works of the Research and Heritage Division (Group B Graduation Production) / Multimedia Application Division, etc., are generally agreed for public viewing. Provide the files of works that passed the degree exam (send a cloud download link to: giem@deps.ntnu.edu.tw) or bring a USB flash drive to the office for retention.

Return borrowed items and locker keys.
* If the thesis is uploaded to the library without office confirmation, any errors in the physical copies during school-leaving procedures will not be accepted, and it must be re-submitted to the library for review
